Today during Hooves and Nature we took the ponies up ont hills for a magical walk. Walking in hand with the ponies is good exercise, it helps build relationships, creates healthy boundaries and can help regulate emotions and behaviour as the person and pony walk together in sync, breathing together and relaxing together. We observed how Hilda was lowering her head, chewing, licking her lips and snorting (a deep exhale of breath). Hilda moved her ear towards the learner when they spoke indicating she was focussing on them.
Walking is really good for wellness, physically and mentally and today the scenery was beautiful even though it was a bit foggy the snow created a winter wonderland through the woods, we heard an owl and looked out for footprints in the snow.
